SAP Mentor Ingo Hilgeforthas updated his Design Studio eBook to include 1.2 - he mentioned this Updated eBook for SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio 1.2
In addition to covering updates, he includes installation instructions - and not just for new installations but updates as well. If you have followed the SCN forums you will know that some people performed the full installation when they just needed to include updates and there have been some issues with this. The installation instructions also include the NetWeaver installation instructions and the Enterprise Portal.
The book also covers user security on the BI Platform. What authorization objects are needed if you are deploying this on NetWeaver? Single sign-on? This is covered in the book. For better performance, should you use BEx queries or BEx query views? You can follow along with the examples by activating SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Demo Model on your system.
What is the benefit of the eBook? It contains color pictures. Any links in the book are also clickable and take you to the desired location.
Do you need an actual Kindle to read the book? No, I am reading it using the Kindle Cloud Reader.
He has a chapter dedicated to 1.2 features and step-by-step instructions on how to use the new features in 1.2. He also has an updated chapter on product roadmap and outlook for 1.3.
If you haven't already purchased the book, I recommend you check it out and at least try the sample chapter provided. If you are an Amazon Prime member, "With your Prime membership, you can borrow this book for free on your Kindle device." per Amazon.
I look forward to the next chapter covering SDK's, specifically the Graphomate plug-in that Ingo demonstrated at Reporting 2013 last week. I should also add that the estimated page count before the 1.2 update was 432; now the estimated number of pages per Amazon is 536.
